Timeless Beauty

Spring is late this year in Michigan. We had quite a bit of rain last week and now the trees are beginning to bud out.

While I anxiously await for the buds to unfurl into luscious greenery, I find there is beauty in the rugged nakedness of a tree enduring the seasons much like in my own life experiences.

Aging Spring

timeless beauty waits
pockmarked and arthritic
to feel young again

February’s Random Thought

Winter Melts

I was looking through old photos and found this haiku from March 2015, Winter Melts. This photo was taken at our little cottage, Heaven’s Vineyard by Lake Michigan in Ludington.

Dreaming of spring in February as snow continues to fall, I was inspired by this photo once again.

The Meeting Place

Flower Bar

This little poem was inspired by the Flower Bar in Ann Arbor, Michigan. It is a wonderful little shop serving organic coffee, teas, and pastries. It is a regular stop not only for my 16 oz. black coffee with a double-shot of espresso, but a place for fresh flowers, unique gifts and friendly conversation.
